Ben Klock makes long-awaited BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix Debut

On October 10, techno heavyweight and longtime Berghain resident Ben Klock made his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix debut. “After a long, long time, we’ve finally got him,” said Pete Tong before the prolific German producer veered from tradition and shared a two-hour mix recorded live in a club.  “This is alive club mix, so my approach was more about being spontaneous, going with the flow, catching the vibe of the room, and just playing whatever feels right for me at the moment,” Klock explained. “For sure, it’s a bit more raw than a studio mix. So the flow is the key.” The set features intense cuts by artists like Cajmere, Planetary Assault Systems, Mathew Jonson, Jeff Rushin, DJ Dozia, Museum of Plate and Klause Weise, to name a few.
