Carl Cox is the brains behind new Australian techno festival, Pure
Despite the end of an era with Carl Cox calling it quits with his 15-year residency at Space Ibiza, the venerable talent will be starting a new chapter in his career sooner than you think. A Carl Cox-curated techno festival is coming to Australia next April; more specifically, Melbourne and Sydney.
“I am looking to build my own bespoke Carl Cox festival in Australia,” he told inthemix. “It’s going to be called Pure and all I’m going to be concentrating on is underground DJs who have a vibe for house and techno.”
A concrete roster has yet to be established, though Cox explains that he has received interest from a panoply of artists. While the finalized lineup will primarily be dependent on scheduling, he promises to host “the best DJs playing the best music.” Optimally, Pure will carry enough weight to develop into an annual gathering.
