The Chainsmokers release new single ‘New York City’ and music video for ‘Waterbed’
The Chainsmokers have unquestionably proven their production versatility. From the duo’s commercial favorite, “Roses,” to their anthemic collaboration “Split (Only U)” with Tiësto, Alex and Drew have dabbled in various soundscapes in their ascent. Their Bouquet compilation EP is a testament to just that, with the final piece of the puzzle arriving in the form of “New York City” – a progressive ode to the duo’s current home. Slightly mellow and tinged with a tropical melody, “New York City” rounds out The Chainsmokers’ first output on Columbia/Disruptor Records.
In addition to their EP release, the pair have put forth another mischief-injected music video for their indie-dance single “Waterbed.” As Drew sits in bed with an ankle injury with only a canine companion to comfort him, Alex throws a party with an entourage of bikini-wearing friends – leaving Drew no choice but to have his adorable puppy ease his FOMO with a handful of hilarious video clips.
