DJ Dozia – Pop Culture (Joris Voorn Remix)

Seventeen years after its release, the familiar sounds of “Pop Culture” by DJ Dozia continue to make their way into contemporary house sets. Dutch legend Joris Voorn was one of a handful of artists assigned to remixing the renowned classic — an undertaking which he accomplished with ease. Enhancing the original without taking away its core identity, Voorn feigns simplicity in each measure by subtly underlining the central beat with intricate details. A light touch of creative arpeggios, vibrating bass, and a boost in rhythm go a long way in adapting “Pop Culture” onto the current underground dance floor.

Joris Voorn’s re-work will be available as part of a remix package released on October 19.
