Knife Party & Skrillex collab sees light of day after 3 years at ADE

Three years ago, kings of bass Skrillex and Knife Party began a track together. They never finished, and thus the abandoned file sat buried in Skrillex’s music files indefinitely. Luckily, the track was finally rediscovered at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event as the OWSLA owner wrapped up his performance. The collaboration was so dated, that Skrillex himself stated, “This is all the way from 2012…I don’t even know what this shit sounds like.” As the track dropped into a cacophony of robotic sounds and heavy bass, the answer to his statement quickly became visible: it indeed sounds like 2012, taking popular sounds of the year and reminding us what both Skrillex and Knife Party were known for at the start of their trek to super-stardom. The only question remaining is, how did this beast of a track not get finished? Maybe both collaborators will now feel inspired to fine tune it and release it to their adoring fans, preferably for free. Listen to the demo below, along with another rediscovered piece from the bowels of Skrillex’s laptop.
