Kraftwerk announces eight-show residency in Norway next summer

Pioneering German electronic group Kraftwerk has announced an eight-show residency in Norway next summer. In the most recent chapter of their career, which spans nearly half a century, the influential artists brought a three-dimensional multimedia show this year to storied international venues like New York’s Museum of Modern Art, London’s Tate Modern, and Sydney’s iconic Opera House.

Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, half of the original four-person band, will offer a series of 3D concerts across four days – August 4-7 – in 2016. There, they will showcase eight landmark albums chronologically at the Norwegian Opera House. Leading up to the shows, concert organizers will install interactive exhibits throughout the capital city of Oslo; one such installation will bring to life Kraftwerk’s 1981 track “Numbers,” and invite pedestrians to press a number that will light up and speak that digit.

Tour dates:

Aug 04 Autobahn (1974)
Aug 04 Radio-Activity (1975)
Aug 05 The Man-Machine (1978)
Aug 05 Trans Europe Express (1977)
Aug 06 Techno Pop (1986)
Aug 06 Computer World (1981)
Aug 07 The Mix (1991)
Aug 07 Tour De France (2003)
