Listen to the first single off Laidback Luke’s forthcoming album
Laidback Luke stands as one of dance music’s most prolific figures, recently penning an op-ed about payola and its negative affects on artists. Last month the producer announced details on his forthcoming studio album Focus, his newest in 13 years. The first preview of Focus is “Let It Go,” a collaboration with Canadian singer Trevor Guthrie.
“Let It Go” holds true to his signature spirit as a melodic house track perfect for large-scale festivals with its catchy chords and soulful vocals. Though he’s faced some backlash for his recent work, Laidback Luke assures that Focus is a “real” album. In an interview with Billboard: “It’s not me selling out and it’s not me staying in old habits. It’s me enjoying my producer time and making tracks that I would both love to listen to and dance to.”
Keep an ear out for more previews of Focus, set to drop on November 16 via his own label, MixMash Records.
