Listen to Moby’s new project, Moby & The Void Pacific Choir
Moby has always been associated with experimentation. Whether populating airwaves with ambient, eclectic pop music at the turn of the millennium or startling his audience with a bass-heavy set at Lightning in a Bottle, the icon is constantly switching up his sound and keeping his listeners on their tows.
Returning to more vintage sounds comes his new project, “Moby & The Void Pacific Choir.” Premiering the project’s first song “The Light Is Clear In My Eyes” as a music video, the Moby’s sound has changed yet again. Taking an indie rock direction, the composition exudes an Arcade Fire-esque quality with angsty vocals and rough guitar riffs that sound like they were taken from the ’90s. Given the monotonous state of much of today’s electronic music, the New Yorker’s newest project is a clear sign of rebellion for the status quo and a calling for revolutionary artistry to make its return onto the public psyche.
