It seems like a new aspiring electronic act crops up every other day in Los Angeles, but most of the new artists don’t share a label with the enigmatic ZHU. THEY, a new duo also known as Drew and Dante, are the third signee to Mind of a Genius label: the home to ZHU and Gallant.

Their debut EP ‘NU RELIGION’ was premiered by Beats 1 New York-based anchor Ebro Darden, and is the first of three EP installments coming from the pair. The lead single “Motley Crue” channels THEY’s unique fusion of dance and hip-hop. Vocal harmonies and guitar riffs open into a percussive breakdown. The subtle production style blurs the distinction between sources of the group’s many influences, melding a fresh new sound from familiar elements. Full EP can be streamed here.
