Nine Inch Nails may possibly be the next inductees into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – since the mid 1980s, this institution has played a pivotal role in canonizing some of music’s biggest influencers. With the likes of The Beatles, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, and many more making up the current list of Hall of Famers, getting added to the list can easily be considered one of the greatest honors in the career of any artist lucky enough to earn the nod.
Voting has kicked off for the 2015 inductee and the competition this year is intense. Though bands like Deep Purple and The Smiths are obvious choices for nominees, perhaps one of the more unexpected picks is Nine Inch Nails. Founded by Trent Reznor, the band came to prominence in the 90s and are known for their array of hits spanning across different forms of rock music in addition to their experimentation with synthesizers. Their album The Downward Spiral opened number 2 on the Billboard charts and was considered one of the epoch defining records of the last decade.
Voting for the next inductee has already commenced and will be going on until December 9th.
