Rap/production mogul, Akon, went off the grid on the music front over the past year with his fourth studio album Stadium still waiting to see the light of day. Back in 2009, Akon made his first crossover into the dance-pop realm when he joined forces with David Guetta for “Sexy Bitch” and followed up with the Parisian producer in 2013 with “Play Hard.”
While he finishes up the final touches on his solo album, the jack-of-all-trades artist teams up with tropical house tycoon Matoma and reemerges beneath the spotlight with an unexpected, sun-kissed original “Stick Around.” While Matoma sticks to his strengths of bongos and pan-flutes, Akon reminds the world of the smile-inducing effect his vocal talents often deliver.
