Having just reached the ten year landmark as a pioneering independent dance label, Axtone ushered a notable change in sound with CamelPhat‘s debut single ‘Paradigm‘ at the outset of 2015. The track did not dictate a shunning of the imprint’s meteoric hold on the big room sound, but more an appreciation for sounds outside of the global festival medium that sat just as pretty within the label’s repertoire.

The mysterious UK duo’s return to the label with ‘Siren Song‘ sat equally well, but receives an in-house remodel that adds to a recent victory lap from the act’s debut instalment for Toolroom. There’s an airy and more club friendly edge to CamelPhat’s Dark Dub mix, one that is sure to resonate with some of the pickier and precisely tuned dance floors of the European circuit. Axtone’s versatility cannot be faulted – where the label has dared to encompass more than just progressive and big room sounds, it’s sense of quality shows no signs of faltering.
