Disciples – Ape (Original Mix)
Disciples aren’t in the business of living off the hype of a breakthrough hit. The London trio rose into the spotlight with ‘How Deep Is Your Love‘ alongside Calvin Harris, but had already proven their worth as a certified UK house force prior to their time as crossover kings.
There’s a sense of Disciples taking things back to basics with the The Following EP, opting for coercing the club floors once again rather than the charts along the way. The groovy and fuzzed up sounds on ‘Ape’ are a welcome de-cleaning of the trio’s sound, honing glitchy robotic leads and an overall confidently customized take on the modern house sound. The Following EP has us convinced that there is no intention to cop out creatively where Disciples are concerned, with this return to the club floors opening up even more exciting prospects for the trio for the months to come.
