Kraak & Smaak’s Boogie Angst imprint have had a damn good first year of indie dance exports. Picking up where the official remixes of the trio’s ‘All I Want Is You’ remixes left off, Dutch producer Feiertag debuts on the label this month with a fresh injection of original material to the recently forged outlet with his High Expectations EP.
Lead offering ‘All I’m Giving’ pairs David Dam’s infectious vocals with a perky yet poignantly place crossroad between the indie dance world and the more digestible strands of soulful electronic pop, a sound that both the label and its founders have made a serious mark upon of late. It’s a sure sign of Boogie Angst finding ways to frame their legacy away from the purely nostalgic sound waves, adding an increasingly promising talent to an already established independent stronghold sounding stronger with every release.
