Jauz reflects on his encounter with Kaylyn Rose Sommer aboard Mad Decent Boat Party
The electronic music world came to a halt last week after tragic news circulated regarding a young woman on the Mad Decent Boat Party who had reportedly jumped overboard. 24-year-old Kaylyn Rose Sommer was identified as the missing passenger, and after multiple Norwegian Cruise Lines search crews and government coast guards immediately responded to find the South Carolina native, she was never found after a nearly 2-day search.
Los Angeles DJ/producer Jauz paid his respects yesterday, posting a heartfelt note about his experience meeting Kaylyn onboard earlier in the day and remembering his encounter with the “beautiful soul.” He recalls her telling him that she and her now widowed husband got married on last year’s MDBP, and Borgore was one of the “best men” in the bridal party. “This was an experience unlike anything I’ve ever experience and it took the loss of a beautiful soul like Kay’s to remind not just myself but all of us on the boat just exactly how important and precious every moment we have in life really is,” writes Jauz. “Artists and fans alike all bonded in a way I’ve never seen before and I don’t know if we’ll experience again.” Read the full post above.
