Tidal expands into TV streaming with two new web series
Tidal‘s position in the music streaming race may be struggling in the face of Spotify and Apple Music’s dominance, but that doesn’t mean Jay-Z will let his latest venture fall by the wayside. After winning a sponsorship deal to rename Barclay Center’s Cushman & Wakefield Theater to Tidal Theater just last week, the music tycoon is taking Tidal to Internet TV as he lands two new series to launch the company’s original programming expansion.
The first will be a stand-up comedy series titled No Small Talk. Hosted by TV, radio, and DJ Cipha Sounds, No Small Talk will be released on Tuesdays and will feature the stand-up routines of three up-and-coming comedians handpicked by Cipha Sounds. For its second series, Tidal will exclusively deliver the second season of Cloud9TV’s hit drama web series, Money & Violence, with its first season already available for subscribers. Tidal plans to continue bringing original TV content to its platform in the future.
