ZHU silently unveils 6-track ‘Genesis Series’ EP
In an Eric Prydz-like fashion, ZHU posted a stark black and white picture titled “Genesis” and a link whose URL read “StreamGenesisSeries.” The simple post was all that was needed to spark a wave of excitement among thousands of anxious fans awaiting news on what the enigmatic “Genesis Series” project’s highly-anticipated release had in store for them. Directed to two places for streaming and iTunes to buy, they soon discovered Genesis Series was a six-track EP.
Evidently, the sudden announcement of Genesis Series‘ release is more surprising than the track-list itself, which turned out to be a compilation of ZHU’s previously showcased collaborations. In fact, it follows the same order as the tracks’ debut as well, with the high-charged single “Automatic” with Alunageorge starting off the list and new crowd favorite “Working For It” with Skrillex rounding it off. Given the fact anyone who follows ZHU enough has already heard all the pieces featured on Genesis Series, its release brings more questions. Could the caption “001-006” imply there are another set of songs as part of the “series” forthcoming? Is “Generation Why” going to be announced officially as an album? Knowing ZHU’s enigmatic approach to unveiling news, fans will most likely have to stay closely tuned to the producer’s social media outlets and their own inboxes in the coming months.
