Hardwell’s ‘World’s Biggest Guest List’ raises more than six times its goal; benefits 18,000 Indian children

Earlier this year, Hardwell set out to break a Guinness World Record in the most charitable way by hosting 100,000 fans on his personal – and his attempt at the World’s Biggest – guest list. 125,000 fans pre-registered for the historic event. While it wasn’t possible for all who were interested to attend, Hardwell was joined by 70,000 strong on December 13 at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Mumbai, one of India’s largest.

Hardwell and his United We Are Foundation teamed up with charitable organization and children’s education advocate Magicbus, with the original goal of helping 3,000 underprivileged Indian schoolchildren who are currently age 8, through their adolescence until age 18. Through the generosity of businesses, partners, and music fans, however, the original target was not only met but exceeded sixfold. Through this concert alone, the Foundation raised enough money from all over the world to benefit 18,000 children over the course of the next decade. Additionally, the sponsors of the event have pledged to continue their support for Magicbus long-term.

This event marks the first of its scale, where an electronic artist has used his influence to such a massive degree for social change and fundraising. More than 10 million viewers from over 80 countries tuned in to the live stream, designating this a truly international moment at the intersection of dance music and philanthropy.
