As part of LuckyMe‘s annual Advent Calendar tradition, Hudson Mohawke has stepped up to offer a new tune, free of charge for the holiday season. Not unlike other HudMo efforts, “Escape” incorporates a hint of strange, experimental appeal blended perfectly with a masterful manipulation of different sounds. The tune centers around chilling piano chords, accentuated by static riffs and a bombastic marching beat.

The Scottish mastermind had a solid year with the release of his second studio effort, Lantern. Constantly straddling the divide between hip-hop and dance music, between his participation as half of TNGHT to his standing reservation on Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music roster and as a LuckyMe mainstay, Hudson Mohawke has always been defined by his production abilities, so what better way to celebrate the holiday season than giving away a HudMo composition for free?
