Fresh off his gig at Los Angeles’ The Roxy with Kill The Noise under their collaborative outfit, Kill The Zo, UK electronic heavyweight, Mat Zo, is no stranger to timeless original releases and augmented remixes. Now, he’s channeling 90s grunge with a nostalgic reboot of The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Zero” off their 1996 diamond-selling album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Zo’s robotic rework maintains the same blood-pumping energy with vocal samples of the original meanwhile proving yet again his ability to seamlessly weave in and out of genres – be it electronic and beyond. From his remix of Destiny’s Child’s “Bug-A-Boo” earlier this year to his rendition of Arty’s “Stronger” alongside Ray Dalton, Mat Zo adds another reason why his critically-acclaimed productions transcend time and culture.
