Considered a forefather of dubstep, Skream has spent the last few years exploring hidden areas of house and garage. Since his last release on Crosstown Rebels, he’s taken an even darker direction, unleashing techno which he quipped “is not for the faint-hearted.”

Completing an unofficial trilogy of warehouse-inspired, grungy records is “Malefic,” an unabashedly evil composition whose threatening energy is carried on through its ten-minute duration. The clip takes us on a creepy ride through acid and drums as ominous, siren-like synths and a piercing melody succeed in conjuring goosebumps. Available for free download as a result of losing the original project file, “Malefic” is yet another representation of Skream’s genre-defying abilities.
