Abdulla Rashim arrested and fined for graffiti tagging in Melbourne

Northern Electronics founder Abdulla Rashim’s illegal hobby has become well-known to the public. Enjoying some downtime before his two-show stint in Australia, the Swedish producer and a friend who he met online opted to sneak into a local Melbourne train yard and graffiti the trains. Their activities however, were cut short by an employee there who swiftly alerted the authorities.

While his partner was able to flee successfully, Rashim was not so lucky and was subsequently arrested and fined $750 Australian dollars for vandalism. Cornered by a reporter at Australian court the day following his arrest, he commented on the absurdity over a “minor felony.”

Thankfully, none of the legal issues experienced mid-week have hindered his planned performances in the country. He’ll start off his weekend with a Friday performance at Melbourne’s Mercat Basement on January 8, then head over to Sydney on Saturday for a slot at the Burdekin Hotel.
