Straight out of the jungle and into your headphones, Wiwek exploded onto the scene last year with his infectious take on house music. Wiwek’s loud, clamorous blend has come to be synonymous with the sound it represents, now widely known as “jungle terror.”
Jungle Terror has taken off and has managed to capture the attention of some fairly important supporters — namely, Skrillex. The OWSLA head honcho has gotten behind Wiwek with full label support by collaborating on new music together and touting the young Dutch producer as the label’s new secret weapon. Following “Tropicana” alongside fellow OWSLA recruit Valentino Khan, Wiwek is keeping his momentum going with new original, “Rebels.”
Cropped from the OWSLA Worldwide Broadcast compilation, dropping January 29 in full, Wiwek’s latest selection, “Rebels” is an unapologetically clanging steel shuffler accompanied by a dose of additional hype by Audio Bullys.
