Deadmau5 teases two new works from ‘Project Entropy’
Deadmau5 has proven time and time again that he is the king of previews. Back in September, the Toronto figure teased fans about his new tour concept, Entropy, which is supposedly a multi-million dollar ‘360’ arena show. Very little information regarding the project followed the initial announcement, with the exception of Zimmerman’s recent SoundCloud uploads like “000001” and “00002.” While he finishes building his home studio, deadmau5 has decided to upload short snippets of “Project Entropy” to bring it back to the top of our minds.
Coupled with grainy, neon videos of mau5′ studio toys, the first of the two songs is tagged “Alice Awakens.” Instagram commenters note that the melody resembles a piece of the famous Star Wars score, “Cantina,” atop a reverberating percussion rack, while the second track, “Hopes Theme,” features an ambient synth progression resembling the signature sound we’ve come to love deadmau5 for. Although the teasers don’t give us too much insight into what he has cooking in his studio, deamau5 fans can at least rest easy that the producer is back to work on new material.
