Gavin Turek – Surrender (Paperwater Remix)

Miami based producers Paperwater have become favorites among fans of deep, warm melodic house with an old school tinge. Most recently, the team took on official remixing duties for Gavin Turek’s “Surrender,” which was produced by Los Angeles DJ Tokimonsta.

For their rendition, Paperwater substitutes all the keys and cowbells of the original for a cool, heavy groove that thumps hard, chic piano chords and a classic house vibe. Turek’s vocals, of course, are left intact and framed beautifully by periodic punctuations of silence, isolated snaps, and an epic bass line. The remix is available now via Young Art Records.
