New York to receive its own ‘East Coast Coachella’ in July
Goldenvoice, the brains behind Coachella, have unveiled a brand new festival on the East Coast.
News surrounding the newly announced Panorama Festival, aptly dubbed an “East Coast Coachella,” first surfaced in September. The festival had initially hoped to attain a spot in Queens’ Corona Park, and was also slated to take place just two weeks after New York’s famed Governors Ball. The event, however, was quickly shot down after the producer of Governors Ball, Founders Entertainment, set forth a petition to prevent the festival from taking place during the same month.
Panorama has since taken a 180-degree turn and will instead call Randall’s Island Park its official home. From July 22-24, the park will be brimming with “Three days of music, art, technology, and local food offerings,” for which Goldenvoice is best known.
In spite of settling for a less-than-ideal Randall’s Island this year, Goldenvoice will continue its efforts to host an event at Corona Park in the coming years.
