Brooklyn’s Output will soon play host to vinyl shop Halcyon

Output, Williamsburg’s trendy music venue-turned-vinyl shop, will play host to Halcyon, a record store whose deep-seated Brooklyn history traces back to 1999. Originally planted in Carrol Gardens, the shop has since moved three times throughout the borough to nearby neighborhoods Dumbo and South Williamsburg. Come this Friday, Halcyon will officially call North Williamsburg — more specifically Output — its new home.

Halcyon’s new space will contain a two-floor cafe stocked with coffee, pastries, and sandwiches during daytime hours while pizza and cocktails will become available in the evening. Consumers can also expect to see 5,000 titles within the house, techno, bass and hip-hop realms adorning the shop’s shelves, in addition to countless “indie labels, ambient tones and dusty rare grooves.” Special live sets featuring visiting DJs and Halcyon’s staff wouldn’t be too far out of left field, either.

Halcyon will operate seven days a week from 12pm-8pm, and will offer extended hours for special events.
