CHVRCHES release ethereal new music video for ‘Clearest Blue’

After rising to relevance on the strength of early songs like “The Mother We Share” and “Gun,” Scottish band CHVRCHES have gone on to be remixed by the likes of Eric Prydz and play festivals all over the world.

Now the synthpop darlings have released a new music video for their song “Clearest Blue,” the third single off their sophomore album Every Open Eye. The new video prominently features shots of lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry wandering through surreal, misty woods, juxtaposed with clips of leather jackets, sleek black cars, and other film noir-esque imagery. The visuals strongly compliment the earnestness and mysticism of CHVRCHES’ signature bright, glassy synths and ’80s-nostalgic drum programming for a pleasantly harmonious aesthetic experience.
