Dillon Francis shares new music video for ‘Coming Over’
Last year finally brought the release of Dillon Francis‘ This Mixtape is Fire, a passion project following the Columbia Records recruit’s debut full-length studio record that wound up planting itself atop the Billboard dance chart. The seven-track EP featured a colorful cast of collaborators — among them, Kygo and James Hersey on “Coming Over.” The track was one of the most highly-anticipated collaborations on the mixtape, and the union of Kygo‘s buoyant tropical aesthetic with Dillon’s toned-down, playful synth work and James Hersey’s infectious vocal addition proved to be one of the most well-received tracks from the EP.
Now Dillon has shared the music video for “Coming Over,” directed by Mister Whitmore, rounding off the poolside pop piece with a stomach-knotting music video that surely most will connect with. The feature follows a couple’s breakup and their turbulent struggle to move past the split and stay apart. Set to the backdrop of Dillon and Kygo’s downtempo effort, the video takes you to the relationship’s lowest moment, through the rebound, then back again.
Topped off with a quick cameo by Dillon himself as the dreaded next guy to come along, the video for “Coming Over” also comes along with a deserved remix package of the tune, making for a standout hit on both Kygo and Dillon’s catalogues.
