Discovery Project Releases taps Grensta for latest free download
Since winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project last year, Grensta has been making waves in the future house scene. After shedding his skin as a dubstep artist, the Bay Area native immersed himself in the darker, bassier depths of the West Coast house music circles. His tracks have since received support from even the most insular cliques — Dirtybirds’ Christian Martin and Shiba San, for instance, are fans.
His latest effort, “Mistakes” is out today on Insomniac’s Discovery Project Releases and available for free download on ToneDen. It’s a heavy, atmospheric track with a classic 909 sound and a menacing bassline. Grensta’s breakbeat roots shine through at the track’s joints, but “Mistakes” sounds more like a distant relative of Adonis’ house masterpiece “No Way Back.”
