On Friday, February 6, Eric Prydz delivered his debut artist album, Opus. Spanning 19 tracks, it’s the pinnacle of his nearly two-decade long career. On the same day, the Swedish legend took to Reddit for an AMA, or Ask Me Anything, to answer fans’ questions about the album (and life in general).
The album title is not a reference to the work being his ‘magnum opus,’ but rather an homage to the track.
He’ll be bringing back his Tonja Holma alias this year.
Every set he performs is improvised.
His EPIC 4.0 shows will be two hours long, and each performance will be unique.
His biggest inspiration is Jesper Dahlback, followed by artists like Adam Beyer and Cari Lekebusch.
His favorite venues are dark warehouses.
He believes the success of a track comes down to timing.
He went through 100s of tracks when narrowing down the tracklist for Opus.
