Feed Me x Kaneholler – Trouble (Original Mix)

It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen anything substantial coming from Jon Gooch’s studio. After shaking the drum & bass market a year ago with the release of his debut Spor album Caligo, not much has been seen from his primary Feed Me alias since his collaboration with Kill The Noise, “I Do Coke.”

It appears that will change soon, evidenced by his newest output on SoundCloud which he stated was “taken from my forthcoming EP.” The collaboration with Brooklyn duo KANEHOLLER starts off deceptively slow, with gentle piano chords accompanying Chelsea Tyler’s ethereal vocals gradually leading into an eclectic tribal landscape. Halfway through, however, “Trouble” transforms into an atmospheric explosion of sound as Gooch takes listeners through multiple throbbing rhythmic structures that highlight his mastery of putting sounds together. No official release date has been announced yet for the EP, but it will likely come some time after he finishes his current tour across North America.
