The Floozies – Wild Card (Original Mix)
Electro-funk duo The Floozies combine groovy instrumentals inspired by live performances with polished studio production for “Wild Card,” the second single off of their forthcoming EP ‘Granola Jones.’ Guitar licks and rollicking horns set the funky tone that has come to be expected of The Floozies, before breaking into unexpected bass wubs about thirty seconds in. The result is unique and almost glitch-hoppy.
Matt Hill, producer and guitarist for the group, explained the origins of the inspiration for the track: “I started Wild Card in a mini van driving to Colorado. We had a show at the Boulder Theater and we wanted to bring our own gear instead of using backline. I went out of my sound design comfort zone and wound up with some new synths and a call and response guitar solo with a horn section that I’m really excited about.“ The Floozies are currently on tour with All Good Records labelmates SunSquabi, Russ Liquid, Defunk, Flamingosis, and Sugarbeats.
