Australian newcomer Jeffrey Alexander recently burst onto the scene with a style of music he dubs “Pinot Noir House,” or “music for how you want to feel.” He demonstrates his ability to live up to this expectation with his latest thematic release, “Wine & Cigarettes.” Layers of exotic percussion present a tropical vibe, brought down to a sultry level with warbly synths and ominous chimes reminiscent of a clock striking midnight. The clip is notably darker than his other releases — a flavor we like to hear from the young producer.
