Karma Fields – Greatness (feat. Talib Kweli)

If there was a genre label for Karma Fields and Talib Kweli’s collaboration “Greatness,” it would be something along the lines of ‘post-apocalyptic hip-hop.’

Karma Fields — Monstercat‘s occult AI artist — has been gradually unveiling the various singles that will compose their debut LP, New Age Dark Age, and until now, the singles have stayed in the realms of synthesizer-driven electro and progressive house.

“Greatness,” however, leans more towards the hip-hop side of the spectrum but still holds roots in industrial, garage-driven sounds. With Talib Kweli’s gritty lines in the spotlight, Karma Fields amplifies the overall intensity with an underlying assortment of clamoring inflections and scraping basslines.

New Age Dark Age is due out March 2 via Monstercat.
