Listen to the teaser of Kygo’s forthcoming album ‘Cloud Nine’
It’s been over a year since tropical don Kygo inked an international record deal with Sony Music. Since then, the Norwegian icon has ascended from blog favorite to crossover superstar, becoming Spotify’s quickest artist to hit a billion streams, as well as performing live on Ellen Degeneres, and attracting guest appearances at his concerts from the likes of R. Kelly and Shaggy. His debut album was originally slated to be released today, February 12, however, Kygo has instead uploaded only a teaser of the album to his SoundCloud, assuring fans “Its 99% done so its very close now!”
Still glittered with bubblegum piano melodies and summer-set moods, the teaser shows off some of the most versatile sounds we’ve heard from the producer yet. Featuring tracks like “Oasis” — his speculated collaboration with Sia — and “I’m In Love” that he played during his sold-out Barclays Center performance, Kygo refutes the critics and demonstrates that his artistic project is more than just a one-trick pony.
Kygo has not left any indications as to when Cloud Nine will be officially released but fans should expect it soon.
