Louis Futon – Wasted On You (feat. ROZES)

Louis Futon‘s “Wasted On You (feat. ROZES)” is the eighth release from the Foreign Family Collective — a group of musical and visual artists curated by ODESZA. Futon is joined by fellow Philadelphian ROZES, who provides the vocals that form the backbone of this eminently danceable track.

A percolating chord patch — stabbing on the upbeat — opens “Wasted On You” while Futon chops and edits ROSEZ’s vocals to slide over the top. The drop adds a heavy bass element to the chord synth, giving it a chugging-along feel, while a simple, ear-catching melodic riff is further added. ROSEZ gets another opportunity to shine in the final third of the track, as she sings the hook with sparse accompaniment outside of a Rhodes piano-esque patch.

This strong debut collaboration between Futon and ROSEZ only builds anticipation that they will produce more tracks together in the future.
