Maceo Plex announces his first-ever Ibiza residency

Eric Estornel has become a prominent force in the underground scene under his Maceo Plex and Maetrik identities. He’s spread his music message internationally through his Ellum imprint and consistent toured around the world, developing a widespread fan-base with his incredible mixes and releases.

Promoters at Pacha have come to recognize Estornel’s growing importance in the dance sphere, offering him his own residency at their Ibiza club for a 20-week run every Tuesday. During this time, the Cuban maestro will head of his new Mosaic project, where he intends to bring on a number of reputable DJs who aren’t normally seen on party lineups. His goal is to provide his visitors with a flavor of sound and design that defies status quo for the island and allows a forum for “good music, interesting decor, lighting that fits the music (dark and warm) and an interesting array of label showcases and takeovers that extend beyond Ibiza’s current repertoire of sound.”

2016 will be the first year Estornel will be leading his own residency at Ibiza. He’ll be entering his role with strong knowledge of the island, having appeared as a regular at Richie Hawtin’s ENTER. parties, Circo Loco, and HYTE in recent years. He describes his ultimate vision for Mosaic’s debut run: “I’m hoping that with Mosaic we will have a place where we can finally get loose, at least to an extent that feels cozy. There is still room for the island to be the Mecca for tech house beats as well as a place to hear other good dance music.”
