DA Premiere: Pleasurekraft debut on Nicole Moudaber’s Mood Records with ‘Defiler’

It’s only right that the globally proclaimed queen of techno, Nicole Moudaber, also has a kick-ass techno label to go with. In roughly three years’ time, Moudaber’s Mood Records has become one of the preeminent imprints for dark, no-nonsense techno, racking up releases from heavy-hitters such as Carlo Lio, Joel Mull, Nathan Barato and Moudaber herself.

With the label’s latest release from Washington and Stockholm duo Pleasurekraft, Mood continues to position itself as a true leader for tough yet emotive four-four sounds, rolling out the two-track Defiler EP for Pleasurekraft’s label debut.

The EP’s title track “Defiler” lives up to its name, unsettling the mind and body with tight pounding bass, menacing vocal murmurs and pressurized synths ready to push club systems to the limit. Wasting no time across the eight-minute rolling groove, the opening build of the track elevates with a crackling synth, then gives way to a delicate pattern over top as hi-hats ride the groove to the edge. It’s a prime example of what Mood does best: building huge dark and brooding vibes that venture into the cerebral ether with unique sonic elements.

Release Date: February 29th
