Premiere: Todd Terry – Overdub
Todd Terry has been enamoring dance floors for nearly 30 years. The Brooklyn legend initially got his start in the late ’80s house revolution, and his global appeal hasn’t dampened since. More recently, he’s inaugurated his own mix show, InHouse Radio, as well as contributed singles to his own imprint Freeze Records, which Terry re-established in 2013 alongside Dutch label Clone.
Terry’s new track is “Overdub,” a hypnotic house cut with raw percussion and a classic rave flavor. “I feel like I’m back in drivers seat with tracks like ‘Overdub,'” Terry says. “I love mixing the old school with the new skool.” The track is an ode to seminal genres of the past like breaks and garage, and an apt reminder of the history embedded within Terry’s career.
Todd Terry’s “Overdub” will be released on Freeze Records on March 11.
