The Radar 46: Mixed By 99 Souls

The UK has become an integral force in the international popularity of dance music. There’s an undeniable trend that when certain sounds take hold with the UK audience, there’s a good chance the sound is likely to become the next hot thing in the global scene. With a résumé containing official remixes for Martin Solveig and Snakehips, 99 Souls have been the latest act to turn some heads out of the region.

99 Souls’ debut original “The Girl Is Mine” — which samples vocals from Destiny’s Child and Beyonce — made a bold statement early last year when it became a major hit in the UK. Now the pair look to show off their hypnotic house knowledge by taking over The Radar’s 46th episode. Complete with shuffling drum racks, eerie basslines, and inescapable vocal loops, the veiled duo put forth their best representation of the current state of house music and present an alluring mix of garage, deep house, and future house.

You can grab a copy of 99 Souls’ debut original “The Girl Is Mine” here.
