Woodstock to return for 50th anniversary in 2019

The original, and most famous, festival in the United States, Woodstock, is slated to make its return in 2019 for the 50th anniversary of the three-day arts and music festival that first took place in August of 1969.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, plans are being made to bring back the festival that attracted hundreds of thousands to Bethel Woods 47 years ago. Discussions are reported to be underway, and locations being scouted for the U.S. installment as well as an overseas location; however, details about a possible lineup were not available.

Woodstock anniversary concerts have been held twice, in 1994 in Saugerties, and in 1999 in upstate Rome. Bethel Woods Center for the Arts sits on the original site of Woodstock, with the grounds hosting the U.S. edition of Mysteryland since 2013.
