Boys Noize returns to his roots, releases two industrial techno tracks exclusively on vinyl

Boys Noize has carved a niche for himself as one of the most innovative producers in modern electronic music, but also one of the most nostalgic. Much has changed about music in the ten years since Alex Ridha founded Boysnoize Records — both in terms of predominant musical styles, and how music is distributed. Boys Noize’s 2015 LP, Strictly Raw, Vol. 1, which aimed to rationalize Ridha’s old inspirations and forward-thinking motions, highlighted that, while Boys Noize has no intention of locking himself in the past, a part of him yearns for a resurgence of techno’s good old days.

In a 2015 interview, Ridha told us, “It’s kind of sad that still the album is kind of a hard thing to promote and goes and comes so quick nowadays, and I’m trying to find ways how to release my music in a…different way or something else.” Boys Noize has begun to deliver on this desire, most recently with the release of “Midnight”/”Los Niños”. Boys Noize’s 2-track release returns to techno’s earliest tonalities, drawing upon analog synthesis, lo-fi production, and sensibilities of acid house and industrial music.

Boys Noize has released the pair of songs exclusively in 12-inch vinyl format for a limited run. Stream previews of “Midnight” and “Los Niños”  below, and view vinyl availability here.
