The Cure and Tame Impala announced as headliners for Bestival Toronto 2016

Bestival‘s Canadian edition has announced rock heavyweights The Cure and Tame Impala as the headliners for the festival’s 2016 date. The annual Isle of Wight festival made its transatlantic debut in 2015, and was headlined by acts like Florence and the Machine, NAS, and Flume.

Both acts are Bestival veterans — The Cure returns to the festival after a legendary performance at the UK flagship in 2011, and Tame Impala showcased their third studio album Currents there in 2015. Bestival Toronto, which will be held at a different site this year, promises plenty besides top-notch music. The iconic Bestival institution Bollywood Temple, a costume party and parade, inflatable church, Day of the Dead cocktail bus, circus troupes, and marching bands are among the unique activities attendees can look forward to.

Bestival curator Rob da Bank stated “We’re back, and Bestival Toronto is up and running for a second year. With a beautiful new site, and so much love emanating from Toronto we needed some big headliners, and The Cure and Tame Impala more than fit the bill; two of the best live acts I’ve ever seen from totally different eras. It’s on. See you in T-Dot!”

Bestival Toronto will take place June 11 and 12 at Woodbine Park. Tickets go on sale here on March 14.
