John Askew is often tied up with his duties managing other artists and as a family man these days, leaving his followers feeling extra grateful when the rare performance or track on SoundCloud get announced. The past six months have seen some rather exciting developments on Askew’s side; not only has he broken his rule of appearing at gigs once a month, but the “Father” has blessed us with “Picture Of Dorian” and his remix to Sean Tyas’ “Da Doo Dah Da.”
Askew now graces FSOE with his newest belter, “Can I Be Frank?” Psychedelic distortions and three dimensional tech trance kicks pair nicely with the high tempo, resulting in a hypnotic setting. As the track reaches its second half, a retro vibe takes over as Askew weaves sonic styles popular in trance’s early days into the foundation. Despite productions from the magnate being somewhat rare these days, one can only expect the highest quality when a new track does enter his discography.
