M83 announces ‘Junk’ release date and tour, alongside new song ‘Do It, Try It’

Towards the end of 2015, M83 fans were elated to hear Anthony Gonzalez shed light on the band’s forthcoming, seventh studio album. While details were given, a release date was not provided until now. The album, Junk, will be released on April 8 via Mute and supported by an extensive multi-national tour throughout the spring and well into the latter half of summer.

As part of the album date announcement, Gonzalez has given a taste of what’s to come by debuting the first song off Junk, “Do It, Try It.” A simplistic yet futuristic melody that picks up during its last minute, “Do It, Try It” falls right in stride with the eclectic, ’70s and ’80s television-inspired theme, planned for the album.

In an albeit interesting, but not unheard of, move by Gonzalez, M83 is also actively recruiting a new, female singer-keyboardist to fill the role of former member, Morgan Kibby, on this upcoming tour. See the complete list of tour dates below.
