Michael Feiner – Mantra (Axwell Cut)

Michael Feiner has been noticeably absent from Axtone Records since his contributions on the label’s first-ever release, “Together.” He now makes his return eleven years later however with his new offering “Mantra,” which employs a catchy flute riff and exotic drum rhythms to promote a tribal ethos throughout its duration.

Label boss Axwell opted to release his remix of the single first, creating a downplayed progressive house piece lacking the kind of festival-friendly drops we’ve come to expect from the Swede. Instead, the original’s instrumentals remain the central aspects of the clip as it’s propelled forward by smooth basslines and gentle synth accents. While some of his followers may feel put-off by the track’s smoother nature, ultimately, the change of pace is intriguing as Axwell crafts another enticing piece of music.
