Trap wunderkind, NGHTMRE, has been slowly but surely releasing the six tracks that construct his self-titled EP. First uploading the graceful introductory track “Prelude” and snarling trap anthem “Burn Out,” the North Carolina-bred producer pivoted into bass house territory with “Get Back” for a change of pace. Holding out another two week before unleashing the next cut from the EP, NGHTMRE shows off his melodic chops with the fourth track, “Hold Me Close.”

Teased during his Diplo & Friends Mix last year, “Hold Me Close” leaves NGHTMRE’s grittier tones at home and instead flaunts a brighter mood full of atmospheric bass punches and elaborate vocal cuts. With two tracks left to be revealed — “Touch” and “Holdin’ On To Me” — NGHTMRE has already proved his debut EP will not only demonstrate his prodigious abilities in trap but other bass-fueled genres as well.
