OMI – Hitchhiker (Bergs Remix)
Jamaican reggae sensation OMI first catapulted into prominence with Felix Jaehn‘s tropical remix of “Cheerleader.” The international chart-topper inspired a whopping 14-track remix package of deep house and tropical-tinged remixes of songs off of OMI’s debut album ME 4 U. The artist used his position to highlight a number of up-and-coming producers from around the world, including artists like Kungs (France), Boehm (Romania), and Luca Schreiner (Germany).
The first release off of the package, a deep house-inspired take on “Hitchhiker” released on Ultra, comes from Norwegian-born, Australia-based newcomer Bergs. Built around OMI’s inimitable vocal, the breezy guitar and tropical percussion of Berg’s rework arrives well-timed as the weather warms up and festival season approaches.
