Tommy Trash – Luv U Giv (NGHTMRE Remix)
Say what you will about trap music being a fad, that it was bound to disappear and be replaced with another, edgier sub-genre eventually, but in the hands of NGHTMRE, trap music appears to be alive and well. With each new piece he puts out, consistent growth and exploration prove to be major themes in the young up-and-comer’s production methods. His latest comes as a remix of Tommy Trash‘s “Luv U Giv,” laying down an echoing future-bass spin on the original, grounding his bellowing synthwork with a hard backbone of beating drum progressions.
The Mad Decent breakout, coming off an original piece, “Hold Me Close,” switches gears on his remix, centered around a ’90s-rave-ready vocal selection. Featuring two distinct breaks broken apart by snapping snare shots and looping vocal cuts, NGHTMRE again disregards the limitations of his familiar trap leanings, capitalizing this time on his “Luv U Giv” remix.
